Shiras Moose Hunt

About this trip

Rival Outfitting Ltd.’s coveted Shiras Moose Hunt, set in our game-rich Okanagan/Boundary area of southern British Columbia, offers a rifle or archery experience for this coveted big game animal. Our hunting area boasts a robust Shiras Moose population, with bulls averaging 30-40” antler spread, with some exceptional trophies in the 50” range, though any bull is legal. With limited range in both Canada and the U.S., and as a cornerstone species in this region. Shiras Moose are managed under a strict quota system, ensuring a sustainable population and making our limited tags highly sought-after, with all tags being provided by the outfitter, so no draw is required.

Note -

If you are looking for a late season Shiras Moose hunt with unique add-on options that anyone can enjoy, this is the hunt for you. This hunt is conducted in the final weeks of our Moose season, during the height of post-rut feeding. Hunters will navigate Moose country by pick-up truck, tracked ATV, snowmobile and some moderate hiking; employing tactics like glassing, using snow to find sign of current feeding & bedding areas, as well as staking out high traffic areas to target bulls feeding morning/evening, usually in partially regrown, logged-off areas during the cold temperatures of November.
With expert guides, proper equipment, and experienced hounds for added fun, combined with cool late season temperatures and a pocket full of tags, this hunt promises a thrilling pursuit of one of British Columbia’s most iconic and coveted big game animals.
